Our Medal of Honor Museum Foundation float received the 1st Place Overall Ruthie Jackson Award for the best float in the Arlington 4th of July Parade. We also received the 1st Place Award for Professionally Built floats.

Many thanks to Amber Zuckerman for getting the float completed last year and for organizing our presence at the 4th of July parade this year, to include a host of volunteers who road on the float and walked with us during the parade route.

Thanks also to Sid Epps from the Airpower Foundation for sponsoring the float and ensuring it got built. Sid was the person who brought the idea to Mayor Williams for Arlington to compete to be the home to the Museum. For that we will be eternally grateful.

We’re always grateful to Mike and Rainy Thornton for their staunch support of the Museum and for riding the parade route on the float.

Thanks also to Kristin Vandergriff for participating in the parade and for representing us at the awards ceremony Thursday night along with Sid.
