The Countdown has begun….

This year the Airpower Foundation is celebrating our 20th Sky Ball Anniversary.  Sky Ball XX will take place at Globe Life Field on Thursday, November 3, 2022.  Sky Ball XX is thrilled to be the Kick-off Military Fundraising Gala for a jam-packed weekend of military appreciation in Arlington, Texas.  Cumulating with the Lockheed Martin’s Commanders Classic Football game, where Army and Air Force will compete for the second year for the title.

This year marks two decades of the Airpower Foundation raising the much-needed funds to support our military servicemen and women, veterans, and their families. This is the second year that Sky Ball is taking place on the football field at Globe Life Field.  The overwhelming response from the attendees from Sky Ball XIX, was “This is the BEST venue and the evening was an emotional roller coaster and the  program’s message was exactly what they needed to hear.”   Respect, honor, tradition, new friendships made, old friendships rekindled, military programs meeting and collaborating and raising much needed funds are all goals for this grand military gala.  You will not want to miss Emerald City Band finish out what will be a night to remember.

Men and Women of the Airpower Foundation,

I am writing to express my thanks for the $1,000 flight scholarship I was awarded. I was thrilled to find that I had been selected, and I am now scheduled to receive 8 flight hours as a result of the generosity of your organization and its sponsors.

I am an Air Force ROTC cadet and a Junior studying Mathematics and Statistics at North Carolina State University. My goal is to commission as a USAF 2nd Lieutenant when I graduate in May 2020 and to be selected to attend pilot training. I have dreamt of being a pilot since I flew with my grandfather when I was very young but haven’t received many opportunities to fly since then until now. This scholarship not only lifts the financial burden from a hobby I have so long desired to experience but comes just in time to improve my resume as I meet the Air Force pilot selection board in the coming months. I received my first lesson yesterday and was amazed at all the information I was taught in just slightly over an hour. I was even able to land and take off almost entirely on my own! Thank you again for this opportunity. While I will certainly enjoy the time spent learning a skill, I am passionate about, your generosity will also make a tangible impact on my career and the goals I hope to achieve in the next few years.

Very Respectfully,
Danielle Barth
