April has been a whirlwind of a month for the Airpower Foundation! We could not do what we do without supporters like YOU!
Please read on to see all of the exciting news, events, and fundraising efforts that the Airpower Foundation has carried out in the month of April.
Wanda Cox is the New Chairman of the Airpower Foundation
We are grateful for the leadership and years of dedicated service of former Airpower Foundation Chairman Sid Eppes. Following in his mighty footsteps is Wanda Cox. Wanda has been involved with the Airpower Foundation for many years beginning as a guest of Sky Ball X, to volunteer, to Executive Administrator, board member, and now Chairman of the Airpower Foundation. Wanda is a military spouse of retired United States Air Force Veteran Colonel Bruce R. Cox, a mother to a family of 6, Mimi to 6 and a business professional that will bring all of her combined experience into her leadership of our organization. We cannot wait to see what wonderful things that Wanda will accomplish throughout her tenure. Wanda was a guest on local Hometown Heroes with Rick Irving, Mary Staffeld, and Larry O’Neal to speak about the Airpower Foundation.

Austin Allsup Supports the Military with the Help of the Airpower Foundation
Longtime friend to the Airpower Foundation, Austin Allsup generously donated over 90 tickets to the Airpower Foundation to his concert at Billy Bobs Texas on April 22nd. We were able to invite leadership and volunteers as well as active duty, reservist and veterans from NAS Fort Worth JRB and Dyess Air Force Base. We hosted a successful Facebook contest where some of the tickets went to service members and veterans that support the Airpower Foundation and Austin Allsup.

Passing On Wisdom Event
The Airpower Foundation was invited by Robert Isom CEO of American Airlines and his wife Amy to attend the POW: Passing on Wisdom event on April 24th.
The evening was powerful and inspiring. We were able to hear Commander Porter Halyburton’s story of resiliency and forgiveness after his over 2,500 days of captivity.
We are grateful to have been invited and look forward to working with American Airlines at the 50th Reunion Return to Freedom Reunion for our former Vietnam Era POWs.
Airpower Foundation Volunteers at Roll Call Veterans Luncheon
The Airpower Foundation had some volunteers work the monthly Roll Call luncheon held at NAS Fort Worth JRB. Every month the Roll Call organization coordinates and executes a luncheon where veterans from all over DFW gather to attend. With keynote speakers, a great hot lunch, and a sense of belonging for our Veterans from all wars, the Airpower Foundation is proud to fund grants for and volunteer our time for such a wonderful cause. Thank you to Greyhound for sponsoring a bus to help more Veterans attend this morale event.
