Airpower Foundation History
Helping our Nation’s Military and Their Families
The Airpower Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 1999 with its roots dating back to 1958 with community engagement dedicated to supporting the military families at Carswell Air Force Base, now Naval Air Station
Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base. The mission of the Airpower Foundation has dramatically expanded over 24 years. Through Sky Ball, our premier military fundraising event and the generosity of our donors and sponsors, more than $27 million dollars has been raised. These funds support hundreds of vetted programs and organizations which positively impact thousands of our service members, veterans, and their families.
The Airpower Foundation Board of Directors is a diverse group of professionals who volunteer countless hours of their time and are dedicated to supporting those who commit their lives to maintain the freedoms and liberties enjoyed by all Americans.

American Fallen
Soliders Project
At Sky Ball XX, the American Fallen Soliders
Project unveiled the portrait of fallen sailor
ITSN Timothy Gauna to his family and friends.
It was such a powerful moment felt by every
person in attendance. Their mission is to
honor, respect and forever memorialize the
American military service members who have
made the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation,
comfort their mourning families, and inspire
all Americans to know and recognize the price
paid for our freedom.
Vietnam POW
Return to Freedom Reunion
2023 celebrates the 50 year anniversary of
Operation Homecoming. The remaining Vietnam
Prisoners of War were released and returned
home to America and to their freedom.
The Airpower Foundation is proud to sponsor the
NAMPOW organization as they host the 50th
Anniversary Return to Freedom Gala.
At Sky Ball XX the Airpower Foundation presented
a check for $60,000 to help give these heroes the
final reunion that they will cherish for the rest of
their lives.

Armed Services
YMCA
The Airpower Foundation funds
scholarships to provide military children
the opportunity to attend Camp Carter and
continue normal life through extra
curricular activities while their service
member parent is deployed.
Robert Irvine
Foundation
Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine has donated his time
and talent to feeding Sky Ball guests for over 10
years. He established his own foundation to
support our military.
At Sky Ball XX we were honored to fund a grant
with Lockheed Martin for 2 iBOT mobility devices
through the Robert Irvine Foundation. These
devices change the lives of each recipient by
giving them the freedom of mobility that they
would otherwise not have had.

Outreach
The Airpower Foundation is proud to work
with local DFW schools to bring
Medal of Honor Recipients, former POWs,
and Veterans of all wars to inspire future
generations of Americans.
We aspire to teach the leaders of tomorrow
about the cost of freedom, the power of
American resiliency, and how one person
can change history.
