Sid Eppes is the Former Chairman of the Airpower Foundation, and the past Chairman of the Fort Worth Airpower Council.  He has volunteered for many years supporting our troops and their families.  He was honored to be selected as the first Honorary Wing Commander of the 301st Fighter Wing.   In 2009 he went to Iraq as part of a civic leaders tour to visit with our troops to thank them for their service. Sid is a life-long resident of Arlington, Texas. He served in the Texas Army National Guard while attending the University of Texas at Arlington. After college, Sid began a business career in commercial real estate managing properties, and he worked for Trammell Crow developing Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield.  In 1976 he was hired by Tandy Corporation in their Radio Shack Franchise Division.  Sid retired from Tandy in 1986 to work in the oil and gas industry.  In 1995 he founded Southwest Networks, Inc., a fiber-optics and data wiring company.  After he sold his company in 2008, Sid’s passion for helping our military became a full-time opportunity to serve.  Sid and his wife of 50 years, Lu, have four children and seven grandchildren.
