The Airpower Foundation was proud to join the NYFD, CAPT John Woodall, Camp 4 Heroes, and the Saba Charitable Foundation to support the 17th annual Christmas party for the military and families at Walter Reed / Bethesda medical center. Thanks to the Saba Charitable Foundation, we were honored to be joined by the legendary Dionne Warwick and her son Dameon who came to visit with the troops and their families. The party included a great dinner prepared by Camp 4 Heroes Executive Chef Casey Benson, and a visit from Santa with gifts for all the children! We helped put together special gift packages for the families as well, with Christmas cards and well wishes from students throughout the DFW area. A big thank you to the NYFD for all they do and have done to make this event so special over the past 17 years supporting our wounded heroes and their families by bringing this joy and happiness during the holiday season.
The Heart Behind Sky Ball
Our premier fundraising event, Airpower Foundation Sky Ball, has raised over $20 million since its inception thanks to our generous sponsors. Sky Ball has grown from a single evening fundraising dinner, to a three-day weekend of events honoring our nation’s military and their families. Events over the weekend include educational outreach programs to local area schools, a concert for military and families Friday evening, culminating with the Black-Tie Sky Ball Gala hosted inside the brand new Globe Life Field with the Texas Rangers! There simply is no other event in the country that matches the size and scope of Sky Ball.
