The Sky Ball XVI executive planning committee held the second official meeting of 2018 at our host hotel, the Westin DFW Airport Hotel on Tuesday, February 20th. Sky Ball Chairman, Captain Jim Palmersheim, provided an exciting overview of our theme for the event. Reviewing the success and impact of Sky Ball over the past 16 years, and answering the question of “why” we do what we do. We were also honored to have Medal of Honor recipient, and Sky Ball Co-Chairman, Gary Littrell join us as well.
Following the planning meeting, we were proud to be joined by war correspondent, Alex Quade, to enjoy a private screening of her new documentary film, Danger Close.
About Alex Quade and Danger Close:
Freelance female war reporter Alex Quade covers U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) on highly classified combat missions. Since 2001, she has embedded with elite SOF, including the U.S. Army Special Forces or Green Berets, Army Rangers, Navy Seals, and CIA clandestine operatives to tell their stories from the front lines. “Danger Close” follows Alex as she lives alongside these highly trained forces on some of the most daring missions ever documented in Iraq and Afghanistan.
