The Airpower Foundation, along with our partner, American Airlines, was proud to sponsor a freedom celebration event along side the Irving High School Junior ROTC program to inspire students across the DFW Metroplex with messages of patriotism, sacrifice, and over coming severe challenges to succeed in life. We were honored to have in attendance Medal of Honor Recipient, Al Rascon, Lt. COL (ret) James Maggie Megellas, wounded service member and comedian, Bobby Henline, The Kilimanjario Warriors, recording artist Matt Snook, and Phil Taylor from the American Fallen Soldiers Project who presented the portrait of Army SPC. Josiah Vandertulip, an Irving High School graduate who lost his life while serving in Iraq. The foundation was also proud to present the Junior ROTC Program with a radio station which will broadcast the “freedom network” across the school and online, allowing the cadets to tell the amazing stories of service above self happening across the country. While raising money through advertising to help fund the Junior ROTC program and their events for the students.
