American Airlines Sky Ball XVII, in Support of the Airpower Foundation was a great success! We held 3 days of celebrations, tributes, educational opportunities for students, all culminating with the largest and most impactful black tie military support gala in the country! We started with the Airpower Foundation’s 20th Anniversary celebration gala, honoring our nation’s Medal of Honor Recipients. The next morning 3,000 students enjoyed learning about all the aircraft at the hangar along with the DFW Aviation Expo. Medal of Honor Recipients, along with special guests, visited local area schools as well. Friday evening we had a great turn out for our Salute to the Heroes Concert featuring Stoney LaRue with Austin Allsup. Chef Robert Irvine cooked up a fantastic meal along with his team for all our guests to enjoy. Thanks to our sponsor and partner, Caliber Collision, we were also able to gift 4 vehicles to military and first responder families in need during the Salute to the Heroes Concert. Saturday we were honored to host a special luncheon with the American Fallen Soldiers Project to present the portrait of Army SGT William Moody to his family. Saturday evening culminated with the Sky Ball XVII Black Tie Gala celebrating the Home of the Brave! We had several life changing moments, including Vietnam Veteran Eddie Beasley enjoying a dance with his wife in his new iBOT mobility device which stands 6 feet tall! Eddie was also surprised with a brand new Toyota Tundra truck with an AntLifts device already installed to assist with getting the chair in the truck. We were able to present a total of 7 new iBOT devices at Sky Ball. Martina McBride closed the evening with a wonderful concert! Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, guests, and our volunteers who work countless hours to make the weekend possible! And a special thank you to 7 time military photographer of the year, Jeremy Lock, his team, and all our volunteer photographers for all the amazing photos.
