Ian Shelley

Ian Shelley is a dedicated advocate for the aerospace and defense community, bringing over two decades of industry experience to his role as a board member of the Airpower Foundation. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he served on active duty from 2001 to 2005, stationed at Hurlburt Field, Florida, as part of Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). His time in the military instilled a deep commitment to supporting service members, veterans, and their families.

Following his military service, Ian transitioned into the commercial sector, building a distinguished career in aerospace, defense, and technology. Currently, he is a commercial insurance producer at Higginbotham Insurance, specializing in risk management solutions for aviation, defense contractors, and technology companies. His deep industry expertise, combined with an extensive professional network, positions him as a trusted advisor in mitigating complex business risks.

Passionate about aviation, Ian has his FAA Airframe & Powerplant license and is working toward obtaining his private pilot’s license and remains actively engaged in initiatives that benefit the military community. He is also a devoted husband and father of two sons, balancing his professional endeavors with family life. Through his role with the Airpower Foundation, he continues to champion programs that enhance the lives of those who serve and have served.
