I am the One Who Walks Around One People, born for the Folded Arms People; my maternal grandparents are the Sleeping Rock People, my paternal grandparents are the Zuni People. Among my Zuni People, I am of the Mudhead Kiva and am Child of Eagle. My family’s name is one of many firsts of Zuni Pueblo and means Ancient Ones. I am Navajo and Zuni Pueblo.

I entered the US Army in JUL97, completing OSUT at Fort Knox, KY as a 19D. I attended US Army Airborne training directly after OSUT and graduated NOV97 and attended US Army Ranger School directly after, graduating FEB98. My first duty assignment was A TRP, 1/17th Cavalry, 82nd Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division. Later in my career, I would change MOS and served in the 5th Ranger Training Battalion; later moving on to 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. I saw deployments to Bosnia, Egypt, Afghanistan, and Iraq. In 2003 I was Honorably Medically Discharged.

I found a sense of purpose in sobriety, mental health and suicide awareness and prevention; most importantly, I made peace with myself and all that combat had done. I volunteer most of my time to helping fellow veterans and their families; participating in walks that support military and veteran population; and, over the past 6 years, I have been busy with getting a nonprofit that I co-founded off the ground with a fellow veteran. Our nonprofit is Recovery Ranger Corps and we are based out of Garland, TX.
